50 minute check in time
I recently went out to this facility to sign the paperwork for my 10x20 unit and it took forever to get my lock on the unit. Apparently the computer system is from the early 90s and their internet bandwidth is microscopic. It took 45 minutes for the attendant to fill out the forms in the system and get them printed. God forbid they have more than one customer show up at a time. They would likely be forced to leave and come back another time. On the plus side the unit looks fine and the attendant was kind enough.

Not that great
The guy who checked us is was rude and impatient. They don't mention the mandatory $9/month insurance and the staff charged my card over $200 without my consent. I thought he was charging only for the admin fee and the first month but he did not have good communications skills.

Never again.
Renting from secure storage was a nightmare. I arrive to put my stuff in my storage unit, no one is there - for an hour and a half. Theres a note on the door saying they went "to the bank." The two workers come back with sandwiches in their hands, and I walk towards the door as they are entering and they close the door in my face, and put up a "be back in 20 minutes sign." Extremely unprofessional and I was blown away by the lack of customer service. When I was finally able to do the paperwork, I asked "why were you closed for an hour and a half, and then for another 20 minutes?" "We have to take our regulated lunch break." "The note on the door said you were going to the bank." No answer. There is also no regulation saying that BOTH employees have to take their lunch break at the same time. Never again.

AVOID!!!
I had to sweep My own unit and she took forever to get me going! Awful service. Their website has been down since day one, you are unable to pay online and the facility is hardly secure with the gate being left open all night intermittently because it’s “broken” according to the management. There are so many other storage companies in Ithaca - AVOID THIS ONE.

Does not honor reservations
Showed up with my reservation and a truck full of stuff for storage only to be told that they had rented out all units. They were very rude and I was forced to find another place at the last second.
