Extra Space Storage - 8946 - Claymont - Philadelphia Pike

Used to be a 5 star review... but had to change it after the most recent interaction. We were late on ONE MONTH & when we were called on the 2nd i told them that we unfortunately wouldn't be able to make our payment (due on the 9th) until the 12th. The employee assured me that was fine and there would be a late fee attatched, which was understandable. However, when my husband went in to make the payment on the 12th, he was informed that our unit was put up for auction. NO ONE told me that would happen when I got the call that we were late on the 2nd. Even after I communicated that we'd pay on the 12th, our unit was put up for auction and we had to pay an extra fee to take it out of auction on top of the late fee. We've never been late in the almost 2 years we've had our unit, but we're late once and our unit almost got sold without us even being notified? How disappointing, and honestly kind of sneaky feeling. Definitely will be looking into a different storage company, hopefully one with better communication skills.

Darren was on point. Fantastic facility. Organized, clean, professional, all of the amenities one would want. Also, the installation sales on the phone was also spectacular!

Vince was great! Very personable, went over all the details and got us set up with a spot in no time and we popped in on a Saturday! We were able to tour the facility. I like the security and cleanliness of the property. Very happy with our decision and experience at Extra Space!

The storage rental experience at Extra Space Storage was seemless and convenient to do it online. The rental fees were exactly as advertised. My location was well lit and clean and easy to get into and out of. Great experience.

Very clean, friendly and convenient. In addition, they have most packing supplies for reasonable prices. I have been a customer for several years now. Everything went well. Ended up moving things out due to regular ongoing price increases
